Effect of Infilled Walls On The Performance of Steel Frame Structures

Today, the subjectof a building's resistance to lateral loads is one of most important concerns structural engineers. The partitions and infilled walls are non-structural elements that due their effects on building frame. Recently, it has been observed great damage occurring walls, partitions, buildings in an earthquake-prone area. Infilled effective at increasing hardness frames, which changes seismic properties structures. Therefore, study interactions between frame essential for better understanding behaviors. In this paper, effect investigated behaviour steel frames using ABAQUS software. Modeling carried out different types materials, including brick panel, as well thicknesses infills. It was with increase thickness infills from 7 20 cm, final capacity energy absorption increased by 78%. Also, panel-infilled have 18% more 3.8% than brick-infilled same full state. As result, outperform terms performance.
